Council Meeting 7th January 1910
One hundred and twenty third meeting of the Parish Council
held at the residence of Mr Eyre “The Mount” Great Longstone
on the 7ᵗʰ day of January 1910.
Present

The minutes of the last meeting were read and signed.
Fire Extinguishing Appliances
A donation of £2 was promised from Messrs J. G. & W. Orr and the same amount from Mrs Lees and Mrs Hutchinson towards the Fire Extinguishing Appliance Fund.
Mr Orr proposed and Mr Eyre seconded and carried unanimously that the Fire Extinguishing appliances as described in the minutes of a previous meeting be ordered from Messrs Shand Mason & Co for the sum of £50-8-0.
Educational Lectures
In reply to the Parish Council’s application the Derbyshire Education Committee had decided to grant a course of lectures to be given in Veterinary Work.
Mr Howe the lecturer had written stating that he proposes to commence the lectures on the 18ᵗʰ of January and to give them weekly.
It was decided to have handbills printed announcing the lectures and to make a charge of 2ᵈ per lecture for admission to cover cost of Fire Light and cleaning etc.
Holme Meal Charity
The Clerk stated that he had received the sum of £10 : 3 : 0 from the Duke of Devonshire in payment of the Holme Meal Charity account.
A cheque was signed for £1 : 5 : 4 in payment of the portion of the above Charity due to the Churchwardens of Bakewell, which leaves with last years balance of 5/8 the sum of £9 : 3 : 4 to be distributed.
Tenders having been invited for the supply of the above charity, the following were received viz —

It was proposed by Mr Bridge and seconded by Mr Skidmore that Mrs Green’s tender be accepted.
