Council Meeting – 10th April 1902
Seventy ninth Meeting of the Parish Council
held in the School Room Great Longstone
on April 10th 1902.
Present: Rev. G. Andrew (Chairman)
Messrs Coe, Dixon, Spanton & Ward, & J. Shimwell (Clerk)
The Minutes of the last Meeting were read & confirmed.
Chairman
This being the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council for election of Chairman and Overseers it was proposed by Mr Dixon and seconded by Mr Spanton that Rev. G. Andrew be the Chairman of the Parish Council for the ensuing year carried unanimously.
Vice-Chairman
It was proposed by Mr Dixon and seconded by Mr Coe that Mr Spanton be Vice-Chairman of the Parish Council for the ensuing year carried unanimously.
Overseers
It was proposed by Mr Dixon and seconded by Mr Ward that Mr Spanton be appointed Overseer for the ensuing year carried unanimously.
It was proposed by Mr Dixon and seconded by Mr Andrew that Mr Albert Jackson Skidmore be appointed Overseer for the ensuing year carried unanimously.
Stoke Flat Water Scheme
The Clerk was instructed to inquire from Mr Hawes Clerk to the Bakewell Rural District Council, whether the Water Supply Scheme will make provision in case of fire, and place hydrants at convenient points in the village of Great Longstone; and also why the work of the above Scheme is being proceeded with in the lanes, previous to the main street of the village.
Licensing Reform Bill
The Council passed a resolution in favour of the Petition to the Home Secretary for the Licensing Reform Bill.
