Annual Parish Meeting – 17th March 1913

Minutes of the nineteenth Annual Assembly of the Parish Meeting held in the Schoolroom, Great Longstone, on the 17th of March 1913.

Present:
Mr Eyre, Mr J. Bridge, Mr W. Orr, Mr A. J. Skidmore, Mr A. M. Wager, Mr J. Wager, Mr G. Hambleton, Mr W. J. Eyre, Mr D. Hamilton, Mr J. Hambleton, Mr B. Blackwell, Mr S. Kitson, and I. Shimwell (Clerk).

The meeting elected Mr G. Hambleton as Chairman.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and signed.

Election of Parish Councillors

The first business was the election of Parish Councillors.

The Chairman asked for nomination papers to be handed in and six were received, nominating the following persons, viz.:

  • Mr A. W. J. Eyre
  • Mr J. Bridge
  • Mr W. Orr
  • Mr A. J. Skidmore
  • Mr A. M. Wager
  • Mr J. Wager

After waiting the required time of 15 minutes and no more nomination papers being handed in, the Chairman declared the above persons duly elected as Parish Councillors for the ensuing 3 years ending 31st March 1916.

Vote of Thanks

The Chairman proposed a vote of thanks to the late Parish Council.
Mr S. Kitson seconded, and it was carried unanimously.

Mr A. W. J. Eyre responded and said they had endeavoured to carry out their duties to the best of their ability, and was glad if their efforts were appreciated.

Vote of Thanks

A vote of thanks to the Capt. and members of the Fire Brigade was proposed by Mr Eyre, seconded by Mr W. J. Eyre, and carried unanimously.

Charities

The Rev. G. Andrew sent an account of the Milne and Wrights Charities together with a list of the recipients.
