Business –
Little Longstone village internet connectivity/speeds poor at the top end of the village.
Publicise tourist events more proactively
Question of how to capture all the businesses – obtain full list / data register ?
Complaint on free camping on Longstone Edge, and also mis-using the existing camp site for excessive waste disposal
Climate Mitigation and Energy reduction –
Help offered to the workstream to be part of a knowledge group
People interested in getting renewable technology, but unsure of the process
Thornhill target to be energy neutral, they also use Marches Energy Agency and spoke positively about them.
Wide interest in heat pumps
Community Energy Scheme interest
Water conservation and anaerobic digestion discussed
Land Management and Nature Recovery –
Good conservation with Robert who is also chair of the Limestone Farmers Group
Need to get to understand the policies and grants that are available, get to grips with the issues and sort out areas where we can assist in solutions.
Monsal Head weir and viaduct is maintained by Chatsworth, how do we capture their plans into our strategy?
Use of pesticides discussed, in particular PC Contracts
Area of land to left of allotments suggested as potential car park
Should street parking be residents only?
Housing –
Of those who expressed opinion,
2 were in support of affordable housing with one suggestion for land off station road as a possible location.
2 expressed a view against affordable housing, however, their opinions could alter if the detail was available.
Generally the thought was that many concerns would be allayed if they knew the local stipulations, and small numbers likely.
Transport –
Georgina on holiday so no report back
Creating Community –
Feeling that we need to offer more for the less mobile members of the community.
Need to engage better with the young families who cannot make the early evening, potential to use the school?
- NP Workstream Areas – Some workgroup areas reviewed and started to flesh out the content. At some point will need to establish which elements fall into the Neighbourhood Plan and others to be picked up in a “Area Village Plan”.

Prep work to undertake for the housing needs survey, questionnaire to circulate for comments when received from DDDC. Action – Simon

Set up session with Marches Energy Agency for the Book Swap Café (BSC) in November and discuss options for thermal camera surveys for residents to be undertaken as part of the offering

Engagement process to develop to build up events and gaps in engagement. Thoughts about using the school area / end of school day times to better communicate.

Engagement calendar to develop to make sure we balance/space out the communication events.
Agreed to develop a general questionnaire for circulation to the villagers before Christmas – all to look at the range of questions and objectives / required output from the survey so we can formulate during the next meeting.
What do the villagers want to see from a Neighbourhood and associated Village Plan? - Grant Application
Community Grant of £750 from PDNPA might be available to the NP. Application submitted. - AOB
