Seventieth Meeting of the Parish Council held in the schoolroom, Great Longstone
on Novr 19th 1900.

Present: Rev. G. Andrew, Chairman.
Messrs Dixon, Spanton & Coe & J. Shimwell, Clerk.

The Minutes of the last meeting were read & confirmed.

Owing to Notice being posted that J. H. Tulloch Esquire M. Inst. C.E. would hold an Inquiry at Stoney Middleton on November 22nd 1900 referring to the Water Supply, and would then be prepared to receive the evidence of any persons interested in the matter.

It was therefore proposed by Mr Spanton and seconded by Mr Coe that Mr Andrew attend the said Inquiry on behalf of the Parish Council.

A complaint having been made by Mr G. J. Wright that the trees on the village green are in a dangerous state.

It was proposed by Mr Dixon and seconded by Mr Coe that the trees on the village green be lopped, and that Wm Morton be employed.

Mr Dixon proposed and Mr Andrew seconded that Mr Hawley, the District Surveyor, be written to referring to the Footroad from The Old Harrow Inn leading to the Post Office and Station Road, that it is in a very unsafe state for pedestrians and they suggest that it be packed up and a coat of gravel applied.
