Council Meeting – 15th April 1904
Ninetieth Meeting of the Parish Council
held in the School-room Great Longstone
on the 15th April 1904.
Present Rev. G. Andrew (Chairman)
Messrs Dixon, Spanton, Thornhill and Ward and Shimwell (Clerk)
The Minutes of the last Meeting were read and confirmed.
All the members signed the declaration of acceptance of office as Parish Councillors.
Chairman
Mr Dixon proposed and Mr Spanton seconded that the Rev. G. Andrew be elected Chairman of the Parish Council for the ensuing year.
Vice-Chairman
Mr Dixon proposed and Mr Thornhill seconded that Mr Spanton be elected Vice-Chairman of the Parish Council for the ensuing year.
Overseers
It was proposed and seconded that Mr Henry Arthur Spanton and Mr Albert Jackson Skidmore be appointed Overseers of the Poor for the ensuing year.
Station Footpath
Mr G. J. Wright wrote in reply that he would undertake to repair the Station Footpath with 10 loads of gravel for the sum of £2..7..6.
The Clerk was directed to inform Mr Wright that the Parish Council accept his offer.
Footpaths
The Clerk was instructed to draw the attention of the Rural District Council Surveyor to the state of the footpath by the side of the main road leading to the Station, and also any other paths in the village.
