Council Meeting – 12th December 2014
MINUTES OF THE EXTRAORDINARY PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
HELD ON FRIDAY 12TH DECEMBER 2014
IN GREAT LONGSTONE VILLAGE HALL- SNOOKER ROOM AT 7.30PM
Present: Cllr Wendy Long (Chair), Cllr Peter Thompson, Cllr Hugh Wright, Cllr James Cox and Sarah Stokes (Clerk).
There were no public comments.
The meeting was opened at 7.30pm.
109/14 Apologies for absence from members.
Apologies were received from Cllr Caroline Briggs.
110/14 Declarations of business interests.
There were no declarations of interest.
111/14 Village hall boiler.
The Cllrs discussed the requirement for a new boiler. This being the responsibility of the Parish Council. Cllr Thompson had met contractors on site, with 4 quotes received by the Clerk. Three of the quotes were of a similar price with a spread of reputable comparable makes of boiler (DCC recommended).
It was proposed for the Clerk to be go back to the three lowest quotes, and agree to the one that can do the best price with the shortest lead time. This was proposed by Cllr Long and seconded by Cllr Thompson, with all in favour. Funding being through village hall reserves and S137 (VAT to be refunded).
