Annual Parish Meeting – 4th March 1901

Minutes of the seventh Annual Assembly of the Parish Meeting held in the School Room, Great Longstone on Monday March 4th 1901.

Rev. G. Andrew, Chairman of the Parish Council, occupied the chair.

The object of the meeting was for the purpose of nominating and electing Parish Councillors for the ensuing three years.

Nomination papers were handed in and Mr Andrew, having accepted nomination as a Parish Councillor, vacated the chair.

Mr G. Hambleton was then appointed Chairman.

Mr Hambleton then took the chair when the following persons were nominated:

  • Rev. G. Andrew
  • Mr Richard Cole
  • Mr James Orr
  • Mr W. R. Pitt Dixon
  • Mr Henry A. Spanton
  • Mr George Ward

The Chairman having waited the requisite time, and there being no further nominations nor any withdrawals, he declared the foregoing six persons to be duly elected to serve as Parish Councillors for the ensuing three years.

The meeting then resolved itself into the Annual Assembly of the Parish Meeting.
