Annual Parish Meeting – 26th March 1900

Minutes of the sixth Annual Assembly of the Parish Meeting held in the School Room, Great Longstone,
on Monday, March 26th, 1900.

Rev. G. Andrew, Chairman of the Parish Council, occupied the chair.

The Minutes of the last Meeting were read & confirmed.

Charities

Rev. G. Andrew presented the Accounts of the various charities with which he is connected, but no accounts were presented by the Overseers.

Parish Councillors (Tenure of Office) Act

A circular having been received from the Local Government Board dated Janᵧ 22ⁿᵈ 1900 respecting the Parish Councillors (Tenure of Office) Act 1899, in which it is enacted that the term of office of a Parish Councillor shall be three years.
The dates on which in the future Parish Councillors are to go out of office, and their places are to be filled by the newly elected councillors, are fixed by Sec. 1 (3) of the Act.

These dates are the 15ᵗʰ April 1901, and the 15ᵗʰ April in every third year then following.
