Annual Parish Meeting – 25th May 2016
MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL PARISH MEETING ON WEDNESDAY 25TH MAY 2016
Present: Cllr Wendy Long, Cllr Phil Barrett, Cllr Caroline Briggs, Cllr James Cox and Cllr Peter Thompson, 3 Parishioners and Cllr Judith Twigg.
The Chair opened the meeting at 7pm.
1. Apologies for absence.
Apologies were received from Sarah Stokes, Parish Clerk.
2. Minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting Wednesday 13th May 2016.
The minutes were proposed by Cllr Briggs and Cllr Cox.
3. Chairs report. The Chairs report highlighted the installation of a memorial bench at West Green, a defibrillator machine donated by The Crispin walk and the proposed changes by Derbyshire County Council regarding Community Transport. A thankyou went to those paid and unpaid.
4. Matters raised by those on electoral roll.
4.1 Moss on tennis court. Asked if the court has been treated. PC reported that it has been treated and needs abrasion to wear it away/not died back yet.
4.2 Land in front of White Lion. PC ongoing and for discussion in main meeting.
4.3 Parking. There was much discussion about parking in the village. Cllr Twigg reported on parking warden activities in Bakewell and Matlock Bath. PC noted that parking is not a right. No proposal for action.
4.4 Cllr Judith Twigg. Gave a report on Derbyshire County Council activities. Also asked if there was anything the Parish would like to raise/her look into. It was resolved for Cllr Twigg to raise parking at Longreave Lane bridge and around The Cross.
The meeting closed at 7.32pm.
