Messrs Dixon and Shanton and Shimwell (Clerk)

The Minutes of the last Meeting were read and confirmed.

Footpaths

The Rural District Council Surveyor having gravelled only a small portion of the station footpath in compliance with the request of this Council.

It was therefore proposed by Mr Dixon and seconded by Mr Shanton that the Clerk again write to the Surveyor asking him to gravel the footpath from the end of Church Lane leading towards Hassop Station as far as the end of the village, and also to construct a footpath along the side of the Miers Road, from the end of the village towards Hassop Station as far as the railway bridge.

Miers Road

It was proposed by Mr Dixon and seconded by Mr Shanton that the Clerk write to the County Council drawing their attention to the bad state of the road from the end of Church Lane to the far side of the first railway bridge leading towards Hassop Station and to request that the above portion of road be transferred from the Bakewell Rural District Council to the County Council.

The Clerk was instructed to state that the road is in constant use and is used frequently by visitors in the neighbourhood and has also been used on several occasions by Royalty recently staying at Chatsworth.

Public Tips

A letter was read from Mr Hawes stating what steps should be taken by the Parish Council to provide the parish with a public ashpit and in accordance with the above information the Clerk was instructed to send a resolution from this Council to the Bakewell Rural District Council asking for powers to be delegated to them with respect to public scavenging and ashpits and also tips.

Charities

A letter had been received from the County Council asking for information respecting Parochial Charities.

The Rev G. Andrew having sent a report in reply to the above, it was not necessary to take any further steps in the matter.
