Council Meeting – 29th August 1901
Seventy fifth Meeting of the Parish Council
held on August 29th 1901
in the School Room Great Longstone.
Present: Rev. G. Andrew (Chairman)
Messrs Spanton, Coe, & Dixon, & J. Shimwell Clerk.
The Minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.
Footpath
Mr Spanton proposed and Mr Dixon seconded that Mr Russell the County Council Surveyor, and Mr Hawley the Rural District Council Surveyor, be written to asking them to meet the Council to consider the gravelling of the Footpath leading from the Old Harrow Inn to the Post Office.
Mr Dixon proposed and Mr Coe seconded that Mr Hawley be written to, asking him to see that a gully be made to prevent the water running on to the Footpath near the Post Office.
Church Lane
Mr Dixon proposed and Mr Spanton seconded that Mr Russell’s attention be called to the untidy state of the Church Lane.
Fernyhough Yard and Footpath
Mr Dixon proposed and Mr Coe seconded that the Fernyhough yard and Footpath leading to the Church be gravelled and that Mr Jasper Johnson be employed to repair the same on condition that he would do it at 3/- per load.
