127.00 Great Longstone Woods
Emma Mortimer, Community Woodlands Officer, Peak Park stated that safe access into the woods appeared to be the P Councils main concern, access was seen as not ideal. The entrance would be sited nearest the village. E Mortimer stated that the main users would be the School. The School has a key to the gate at the back of the woods already, from the field entrance. The school is also keen to contribute towards the third party funding required by Wren for this project organised by Peak Park, through a School grant. The Councillors discussed the possible misuse of the area as a dumping ground and for drug use. The subject of water was discussed. There will be a wetland area. The Councillors showed concern for the children’s safety near water, when not visiting with school. Dogs will not be allowed into the area. There was a very mixed response from Councillors with the main issues being safety and misuse.
128.00 Feemouth Yard Gates
The petition to re-erect the kissing gate consisted of 291 signatures, the majority of whom live in the village. The Councillors discussed that as a council they try to keep everyone in the parish happy. Since the erection of the new gates, Peak Park have said that they will, at no cost to the Parish restore both of the metal kissing gates back to their original glory, whilst making them wheelchair and pushchair friendly. The small wooden gate will be taken down by Peak Park and used within Great Longstone. The Councillors asked the Clerk to apologise to the community in UTE magazine; it has become apparent that the kissing gates were dear to so many in the village. The Clerk was also asked to write to Di Hawksworth whom co ordinated the petition.

The P Council still awaits a response from Peak Park regarding a grant for the project and a wall grant towards the repairing of the walls. The Councillors decided the best course of action would be to do the project gradually, as money becomes available. The Clerk will contact Peak Park regarding the best course of action for taking down the tree and the walling work will be contracted separately.
