You are hereby summoned to attend the Meeting of Great Longstone Parish Council which will be held on Wednesday 10th June 2026 in the Village Hall, Church Lane, Great Longstone DE45 1TB, commencing at 7.30pm, for the purpose of transacting the following business.

Members of the public are welcome to attend.

Agenda

  1. Apologies for absence from members.
  2. Declarations of disclosable pecuniary interest relating to items on the agenda. 
  3. To Approve Minutes of the meeting of 13th May 2026
  4. Public Participation Session: In accordance with Standing Order 3(e), the Council will allow a period of up to 15 minutes for members of the public to make representations, answer questions, and give evidence in respect of any item of business included on the agenda or other parish matters.
  5. Discussion of Confidential Matters: (Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960 S1(2)) – To determine which items, if any, from the agenda should be taken with the public excluded. If the Parish Council decides to exclude the public, it will be necessary to pass a resolution in the following terms: “to consider a resolution under the above act to exclude members of the press and public in order to discuss item number …” This item will then be discussed with press and public excluded.
  6. Planning
    • Recent – Decided/Withdrawn:
    • New, for consideration in meeting:
      • NP/DDD/0526/0510 at The Old School, Main Street, (F1 – Local Community and Learning to E(f) Creche, day nursery or day centre).
  7. Footpath Maintenance: Proposal that the Parish Council participates in the DCC Rights of Way Minor Maintenance Scheme for 2026/27.
  8. Full Fibre Broadband: Report that BT Openreach have been contracted to prepare the parish for full fibre broadband, with a completion date of 31st March 2026. It is understood that fibre will be run the closet node (telegraph pole or underground chamber) to each property. The final connection across the property boundary, from the node the individual buildings, will be done when individuals order an upgrade from their current copper-wire service.
  9. Charity Payment: Request from the Trustees of the Holme Meal Trust that a payment of £130 be made to the Village Hall Management Committee, from the charity’s funds, to cover the cost of the new Toddler group’s room hire fees for their first 10 weeks.
