Council Meeting 20th January 1909
One hundred and sixteenth meeting of the Parish Council
held in the School-room Great Longstone
on the 20ᵗʰ day of January 1909.
Present:
Mr J. Bridge (Chairman)
Messrs W. Orr, A. J. Skidmore & I. Shimwell (Clerk)
The minutes of the last meeting were taken as read and signed.
Gilder Quarry
The County Council having agreed to pay half the cost of the new wall at Gilder Quarry, the Rural District Council have agreed to do the other half and have instructed their Surveyor to proceed with the work which he estimates will cost £6.
It was proposed by Mr Orr and seconded by Mr Bridge that the Clerk inform Mr Wright and arrange with him to meet the Parish Council at the Quarry to stake out the fence.
Mr Eyre & Mr Bridge were elected to meet Mr Wright on behalf of the Parish Council.
Holme Meal Charity
The Clerk stated that Mr G. Mellers refused to accept the 4 pecks of Oatmeal allotted to him, this being equivalent to the sum of 4/8, it was decided that it be carried forward to next year.
A cheque for £8 : 12 : 8 was signed in payment of Mrs Green’s account for supplying 148 pecks of oatmeal.
