Seventy fourth Meeting of the Parish Council held in the Schoolroom Great Longstone
on Monday April 15th 1901.

Present:
Rev. G. Andrew
Messrs Coe, Dixon & Spanton
& J. Shimwell (Clerk)

All the members present signed the Declaration of acceptance of Office as Parish Councillor for the Parish of Great Longstone.

Chairman

It was proposed by Mr Dixon and seconded by Mr Spanton that Rev. G. Andrew be the Chairman of the Parish Council for the ensuing year — carried unanimously.

Vice Chairman

It was proposed by Mr Coe and seconded by Mr Dixon that Mr Spanton be the Vice Chairman of the Parish Council for the ensuing year — carried unanimously.

Mr Andrews then took the Chair.

The Minutes of the last Meeting were read and confirmed.

Appointment of Overseers

Proposed by Mr Coe and seconded by Mr Dixon that Mr Henry Arthur Spanton be appointed Overseer for the ensuing year — carried unanimously.

Proposed by Mr Coe and seconded by Mr Dixon that Mr Arthur William Joseph Eyre be appointed Overseer for the ensuing year — carried unanimously.

The necessary notices of these appointments were forthwith filled up and signed.

Electric Power Bill

A Petition having been received from Messrs Davies Sanders & Co., Solicitors, Chesterfield, asking for this Council’s support in the passing of a Bill for supplying Nottinghamshire and parts of Derbyshire with Electrical Energy.

The Council were in favour of the above scheme and the Petition was signed by the Chairman in support of the Bill.
